Forsyth Forward adds free WiFi to downtown park

  • September 19, 2025

GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) – A Gwinn organization is making internet access accessible for all.

Forsyth Forward added Wi-Fi to downtown Peter Nordeen Park Thursday. Now, residents can stay connected while connecting with nature or get a bit of work done as their kids run around the park.

Forsyth Forward Executive Director Alan Cook says selling coffee, merchandise and Friends of Forsyth memberships made the new free highspeed Wi-Fi possible. He says the park is the center of the community, and the Wi-Fi allows for more than just browsing.

“It’s also an advantage, we have a lot of activities, and vendors come with our events that we have every year,” Cook said. “And when these vendors come to town, and they’re in the park, they need to get their POS systems working. So, this is a great way for them to connect their POS systems to the Internet to help out with all the local events that we do here.”

The Wi-Fi network is called “Forsyth Connect.”

The video above will feature the TV6 livestream until staff can clip the corresponding story, if available, from broadcasts or other TV6 content. You can subscribe to our YouTube page or download TV6+ to stream the latest local news and weather.
