Negroni Week
Houston bars and restaurants are joining thousands of venues globally in Negroni Week, celebrating the iconic Negroni cocktail while supporting Slow Food’s mission for a more equitable and sustainable food and beverage world. Participating spots include HiFi at The Finn, Rosie Cannonball, Bayou & Bottle, Flora, Eight Row Flint East End, Milton’s, Lee’s and more.

Bas’s Cheesesteak Pop-Up at Burger Bodega
Burger Bodega founder Abbas Dhanan continues his smash hit cheesesteak pop-up, Bas’s Cheesesteak, this Monday at Burger Bodega, 4520 Washington, beginning at 6 p.m. Pre-orders drop this Friday via @basscheesesteaks, with pickup beginning at 5 p.m.

Louis Jadot Wine Dinner
Guests are invited to a Louis Jadot Wine Dinner at Etoile Cuisine et Bar, 1101-11 Uptown Park. The four-course dinner features wines from Burgundy’s largest producer, Louis Jadot, along with dishes such as Gulf red snapper with caramelized fennel and blue crab bisque and pheasant breast with morel sauce. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $115 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Iron Bartender at Lyric Market
The Periwinkle Foundation’s annual Iron Bartender competition returns to Lyric Market, 411 Smith, bringing together six top bartenders from Houston’s best bars and restaurants. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., guests can sip on competing cocktails, vote for the People’s Choice Award, and watch as one finalist takes home the Iron Bartender title. Tickets are $75 for tastings, or $350 for the cocktail dinner, with proceeds benefiting pediatric cancer patients at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center.

CFF x BMW Surf & Turf Supper at Navy Blue
Epic farm-to-table festival Chefs For Farmers kicks off with the CFF x BMW Surf & Turf Supper at Navy Blue, where Chef Aaron Bludorn joins visiting stars Alberto Marcolongo (Benoit NYC, Alain Ducasse) and Lamar Moore (ETC, Chicago) for a multi-course, locally sourced feast with expert drink pairings.

Karbachtoberfest at Karbach Brewing Co.
Karbach Brewing Co.’s beloved Bavarian celebration continues its three-weekend run at Karbach Brewery, 2032 Karbach. Join for live music, stein-hoisting contests, bratwurst tosses, wiener dog races, seasonal Karbachtoberfest brew, German food, bingo, giveaways and family-friendly fun. The fun is free and open to the public.

Oktoberfest at Little Woodrow’s
Little Woody’s stein hoisting and dachshund racing continues this Saturday. Little Woodrow’s Tomball, 11241 Timbertech, hosts Oktoberfest at 1 p.m.; the fun kicks off at Little Woodrow’s Heights, 2631 White Oak, at 5 p.m.; Little Woodrow’s Bellaire, 4235 Bellaire, welcomes Oktoberfest fun at 6 p.m.; Little Woodrow’s Katy, 22225 Katy Freeway, hosts Oktoberfest at 6 p.m.; and Little Woodrow’s Sugar Land, 16535 Southwest Freeway, kicks off at 6 p.m.

Chefs for Farmers at Autry Park
Chefs for Farmers big event takes place on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 at Autry Park, featuring unlimited tastings, live entertainment and new activations like The Rosé Ranch, Tailgate Experience and Texas Love BBQ Zone. Proceeds benefit the Houston Food Bank and Urban Harvest.

Two Dine for $99 at Brennan’s
Brennan’s, 3300 Smith, is bringing back its Three-Course, Two Dine for $99 experience all September long. Guests can start with Snapping Turtle Soup or Shrimp Rémoulade, then choose entrees like Petite Filet Oscar, Gulf Shrimp & Grits or Eggs Brennan before finishing with Mississippi Mud Pie, Bananas Foster or Creole Bread Pudding Soufflé (+$5). Chiles en Nogada at Hugo’s
Hugo’s, 1600 Westheimer, is celebrating walnut and pomegranate season with its annual Chiles en Nogada, served throughout September only. Representing the colors of the Mexican flag, the festive Puebla-born dish features poblano peppers stuffed with pork, apples, pears, peaches, plantains, almonds and raisins, topped with creamy walnut sauce and garnished with pomegranate seeds and parsley. The special includes two peppers with rice for $29.

Hunger Action Month
Houston Food Bank and partner agencies mark September as Hunger Action Month. This year’s theme, What Does Home Mean to You, highlights how safe, affordable housing supports food security, with opportunities to advocate, volunteer, and donate throughout the month.

Farm-to-Table Specials at River Oaks Shopping Center
The River Oaks Shopping Center is teaming up with Urban Harvest Farmers Market for limited-edition dishes at Brasserie 19, Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina, Zanti Cucina Italiana and Leo’s River Oaks, running all September long. Highlights include grilled tri-tip with mushroom- and goat cheese-stuffed tomato at Brasserie 19, Mexico City–style mushroom quesadillas at Goode Co., ricotta-stuffed cannelloni and dessert cannoli at Zanti, and heirloom tomato cocktails and tarts at Leo’s. Ten percent of sales from these farm-to-table creations benefit Urban Harvest’s local food-access initiatives.
