A 28-year-old Manhattan man faces attempted murder and other charges for allegedly pushing another man to the subway tracks in the East Village Tuesday night, authorities say.

Police say they responded to a call about a person pushed on the L train platform at 14th Street and Third Avenue around 7:30 p.m. They found a 24-year-old man reporting head and body pain after the track shove.

He was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.

In addition to attempted murder, the suspect is charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal trespassing and other crimes.

It’s not clear if the two knew each other prior to the incident, nor was it known what prompted the alleged shove.
