With the graduation application deadline coming up, it’s time for students graduating this fall to ensure everything runs smoothly as they prepare to receive their diplomas.

The deadline to apply for fall semester graduation is Wednesday, and the in-person commencement ceremonies will take place Dec. 12 at Globe Life Field.

There is a $40 nonrefundable and nontransferable filing fee for each application, and there will be a $60 late fee for any applications submitted after the deadline, according to the UTA website.

The application process can be completed by logging into MyMav, navigating to the “Academic Records” section and selecting the “Application for Graduation” tab on the side.

Students who plan to graduate this fall need to verify with their academic adviser that they are eligible to graduate. If a student applies but is ineligible to graduate, their application fee is nonrefundable.

If an undergraduate student is pursuing dual majors or dual degrees, they will submit one application with one application fee. If a graduate student is pursuing a dual major, they must submit separate applications and fees for each.

Graduate students must submit their approved thesis or dissertation to the library along with their final master’s exam report or dissertation defense report to the Office of the Registrar by Dec. 15, according to the UTA website.

Regalia is required for the commencement ceremonies and can be purchased through the UTA Bookstore.

All graduates will be sent their diplomas about 6-8 weeks after completion of conferral via mail, which cannot be expedited. Graduates must clear any outstanding account balances or holds to receive their diplomas.
