LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Great Plains Technology Center hosted its Fall Career Fair.
They hosted a variety of vendors across multiple industries, such as Goodyear, the city of Lawton, and more, letting GPTC students and other job seekers talk with local employers.
The center’s employment advisor discussed what it’s like getting to see so many people seeking out potential opportunities.
“It’s exciting, so of course we educate our students on the skills and traits that they’ll take in the industry, but being able to put those soft skills into practice that I teach as the employment advisor brings it all together, and so they get to use that, they get to see what it’s like to professionally interact with an employer, answer those questions, tell them the type of job that they’re looking for. So, I think it’s a great experience to be had.”
These career fairs are hosted twice a year, with the next one coming up around the end of April.
