SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — It was a frightening situation for a man and a woman who separately got trapped by floodwaters Friday afternoon.
The first rescue happened near Miller Road and Roosevelt Street,on where a man was trapped in a blue Toyota Prius in the flooded Indian Bend Wash, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.
Video captured by Arizona’s Family showed a group of rescuers who helped pull the man out of the water around 4:20 p.m.
Scottsdale firefighters but their lives on the line to save a driver who was stuck in a flooded area after monsoon storms on Friday.
The second rescue happened near a few miles up north near Hayden Road and McCormick Parkway. Arizona’s Family crews arrived on scene to see a woman pulled out her trapped car by Scottsdale and Phoenix crews just before 6 p.m.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in either rescue.
It’s been a particularly dangerous travel day for the Valley as the region experiences flash flooding and periods of extremely heavy rain. Heavy traffic delays have been reported Valley-wide.
A flood watch is in effect for much of the Valley and portions of Pinal and Gila counties until 11 p.m. on Friday.
