SAN ANTONIO — An instructor at St. Phillip’s College was arrested on Thursday after police say he physically assaulted his neighbor and stole his cell phone while the man was checking his mail.
Officers were dispatched around 4:21 p.m. for a robbery call in the 23600 block of Calico Chase on the city’s North Side.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), Daniel Carbajal approached his neighbor while he was checking his mail and began physically assaulting him.
The neighbor pulled out his phone to try and record the altercation then Carbajal took the device and fled the scene. Police said the male victim had apparent minor injuries.
An official with Alamo Colleges District confirmed that Carabal has served as a full-time faculty member at St. Phillip’s College since August 2025.
Carbajal was confronted by police at his home and later arrested for robbery of an individual and criminal trespassing. He has since been released on bond, according to jail records.
