Eli Kroupi scored a stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a Premier League point for Bournemouth at Leeds United.

Antoine Semenyo gave the visitors the lead in the first half with his fourth goal of the season, his well-taken free-kick from the edge of the box fizzing beyond Karl Darlow.

But Leeds quickly fired back when Joe Rodon rose highest to head home Sean Longstaff’s corner with Petrovic beaten by a deflection on the way through.

Longstaff turned from provider to scorer after the break when he struck home brilliantly from the edge of the box to put the home side in front for the first time.

Leeds defended valiantly after taking the lead but were undone in stoppage time by a well-taken volley from Kroupi.

The draw moves Bournemouth up to third in the table, while Leeds are in eleventh.

Leeds analysis: Longstaff shines in draw

Farke ‘happy with performance’ in ‘unlucky’ result

Longstaff is early into his Leeds career and Saturday may be the day he announced himself to the Elland Road faithful.

It was just the 27-year-old’s fourth start for the Whites following his summer move from Newcastle United and Saturday marked his first goal and assist.

He was pinpoint with his delivery on corners all game and was rewarded when Rodon nodded beyond Petrovic to level.

Longstaff topped off his performance with a superb goal to get off the mark in Leeds colours. The ball dropped kindly to him on the edge of the box after Anton Stach’s effort was blocked and he hit it first time on the bounce beyond the reach of Darlow.

He was at the heart of everything good Leeds did and will feel aggrieved it did not see him on the winning side.

Bournemouth analysis: Cherries earn record

Bournemouth’s Iraola reacts to snatching late draw at Leeds

Bournemouth’s late equaliser means the club have now had their best start to a Premier League season after six games, only needing to avoid defeat at Elland Road to achieve that feat.

Andoni Iraola’s side have 11 points after six games and sit third in the Premier League table, four points behind leaders Liverpool who lost at Crystal Palace.

The 4-2 defeat on the opening day to the champions remains the only time Bournemouth have tasted defeat in the league.

It was not as pretty as it could have been in Yorkshire but the record, after six games at least, stands.

What’s next for both sides?

Leeds welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday, 4 October at 12:30 BST, while Bournemouth are next in action when they host Fulham on Friday, 3 October at 20:00.
