EAGLE PASS, Texas – Two people are dead and five have been hospitalized after a horrific shooting at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.

At 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, deputies with the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office were called to the casino located at the corner of Tierra Soberana Blvd and the El Indio Highway, right along the southern U.S. border.

In total, one man was pronounced dead at the scene, and one woman succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.

Five additional victims were rushed to trauma centers in San Antonio, with two having been transported to the University Hospital and three transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

University Hospital has confirmed that one victim, a 59-year-old woman, has been deemed to be in serious condition as a result of her injuries. Another victim, identified as a 22-year-old woman, has been discharged from the hospital.

Eagle Pass officials confirmed Marcus Antley, a retired U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent, died at the scene.
