Arne Slot and his staff worked with 24 players as Liverpool prepared for their trip to Galatasaray, with Hugo Ekitike available again for the Champions League tie.
Ekitike was unfortunately absent for the trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday, serving his suspension for two yellow cards against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
But the Frenchman is back in contention for the Champions League clash with Galatasaray and is expected to join Slot’s starting lineup.
He was one of 24 players put through their paces at the AXA Training Centre on Monday morning ahead of the flight to Istanbul.
Ekitike is likely to replace Alexander Isak up front on Tuesday night, with Federico Chiesa surprisingly left out of the travelling squad.
Chiesa scored off the bench in the weekend’s 2-1 loss and following the injury to Giovanni Leoni had belatedly been registered for the Champions League.
The Italian was in high spirits as he worked with his teammates in the Kirkby sunshine, but then did not join the squad on their trip.
While Slot is likely to make further changes it is unlikely that he will omit Ibrahima Konate based on a disappointing performance against Palace.
Joe Gomez is the other option to partner Virgil van Dijk at centre-back but, unless he opts for heavy rotation, the chances are Konate will be retained.
There could be rotation in midfield with Alexis Mac Allister not yet ready to start two games in a week, but the positive news was neither he nor Isak were absent from training as they build up their minutes.
The squad warmed up with resistance bands and speed training hurdles on the outdoor pitch at the AXA, with a high energy throughout.
Slot will hold a press conference at Galatasaray’s RAMS Park at 7pm UK time, with the head coach joined by one of his players shortly after their arrival in Istanbul.
