WASHINGTON (7News) — The Washington Mystics’ players Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen were named in the 2025 WNBA All-Rookie team, the WNBA announced Monday.

Citron and Iriafen appeared in all 44 games for the Mystics during the 2025 WNBA season, with both earning All-Star honors – marking just the second time in league history, and the first time since 1999, that rookie teammates have been selected as All-Stars, the Mystics announced.

Iriafen and Citron had an impressive start in their debut seasons– both players making an impact for their team and history in the Mystics franchise.

Citron, who was drafted 3rd overall in the 2025 WNBA draft, averaged 14.9 points per game and 4 rebounds. She also shot 47% from the field and nearly 45% from the three-point range.

The guard from Notre Dame broke the franchise’s single-season scoring record with 657 points.

Forward, Kiki Irifen, also has a historic start to her professional career.

Iriafen, who was drafted 4th over in the 2025 WNBA Draft, recorded a 2025 rookie-best and single-season franchise record, 16 double-doubles, ranking fifth overall in the league.

She joined Angel Reese among the only rookies in WNBA history with multiple double-double streaks of four or more games. Her 8.5 rebounds per game are the most by a rookie in franchise history and ranked fourth overall in the WNBA this season, the Mystics said in an announcement.

The 6-3 player from the University of Southern California reached a single-season franchise record for rebounds with 376 and became the first rookie in franchise history to earn the Kia Rookie of the Moth honors, averaging 13.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.

Citron and Iriafen become the eighth and ninth players in franchise history, and the first set of Mystics teammates, to be named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team.

Iriafen and Citron are expected to play in Unrivaled, a professional three-on-three women’s basketball league, co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, this offseason.
