Haute Living: What are the members’ clubs actually worth joining?

Nikole Powers: In New York, much like London, members’ clubs are essential. The Twenty Two, Chez Margaux, Maxime’s, San Vicente Bungalows, and Casa Cipriani each offer something distinct. Depending on your mood, the occasion, and where you live throughout the year, all five are worth joining.

HL: Which is your members’ club of choice?

NP: 5 Hertford Street in London is my absolute favorite. When I’m in New York, considering I split my time between the West Coast, I rely on San Vicente Bungalows. But when I’m craving that London sensibility, I would choose The Twenty Two.

HL: What is your favorite NYC bar?

NP: The Bowery Hotel bar, without a doubt. It’s classic, cool, and always delivers the right vibe.

HL: What is your favorite place for a night out in New York City?

NP: People’s NY, Bar Bianchi, and Jean’s. They all offer a great night in totally different ways.

HL: What, in your opinion, is overrated in New York City?

NP: January. I really can’t stand January in New York; it’s bleak and overrated. Nothing truly happens, and it just feels off.

HL: What are you packing for a trip to New York City?

NP: My favorite leather coat from Nour Hammour, the blackest pair of denim I own, my favorite Arakii dress that I’m obsessed with, Julietta jewelry, and my Le Sundial belt; it pulls everything together.

HL: What is your beauty regimen when you are there?

NP: If I can carve out the time, I head to the Diane Barrière Spa in Tribeca; it’s my go-to. Skincare-wise, I have recently fallen in love with Plated.
