After 25 years as the Two x Two for AIDS and Art in Dallas, the event celebrates rebrands into a new beginning as amfAR Dallas on Saturday, Oct. 4. The event will shine big with huge stars attending the event. On Wednesday, organizers announced the appearances of Nicole Kidman, Taylor Sheridan, Dirk Nowitzki with Teri Hatcher serving as host. The event will be held at the home of Dallas’ Kathleen and Scott Kirby (CEO of United Airlines).
This inaugural event brings together philanthropic leaders and supporters of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to raise funds for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research, advocacy and education programs.
At the event, Mavericks legend and NBA Hall of Famer, Dirk Nowitzki will present the Gene and Jerry Jones family with the amfAR Philanthropic Leadership Award. Actor, writer, producer and director Taylor Sheridan, of Yellowstone fame, will be presented with the amfAR Award of Inspiration by Oscar winner Nicole Kidman. Music icon Diana Ross will headline the gala.
Dallas follows the amfAR Cannes and lands ahead of the debut of amfAR London later this month.
amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy. Since 1985, amfAR has raised nearly $950 million in support of its programs and has awarded more than 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide.
Many effective treatments were developed with the help of amfAR’s research and have rendered HIV a manageable condition, but nearly 10 million people living with HIV around the world currently do not have access to lifesaving medication.
Focused on ending AIDS once and for all, amfAR has prioritized developing affordable and accessible cure that can be made available to the more than 40 million worldwide who are living with the virus.
