HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Governor Josh Green hopes federal workers affected by the ongoing government shutdown will look for opportunities with the state through the Operation Hire Hawaii Initiative.
The program was launched under an executive order in February in an effort to fast-track the state hiring process in the midst of massive federal cuts.
Since its inception, more than 160 individuals have been hired through OH-HI, demonstrating its effectiveness in connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities in state government.
The Gov. is encouraging more agencies to post openings under the program. About 40 jobs in various agencies are available through the program right now.
