This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Celebrate the most fearful time of the year at Scream Fest. The annual, carnival-like festival comes back to life this October as the city’s only haunted-themed amusement park where all the freaks and ghouls can dare multiple haunted houses, paintball, midway games, among libations, free concerts, and more.
Running on select dates (mostly Fridays and Saturdays) from October 3 to November 8, Scream Fest bills itself as “the largest and best haunted amusement park in Texas“. The annual festival possesses a carnival-like atmosphere, complete with a midway, carnival games, and on-site food vendors at its food court.
This year, Scream Fest will be hosting four haunted house experiences: Sanitarium, Castle of Doom, Casa De La Llorona, and The Graveyard. The venue also features a Call of Duty Blackops-inspired H-Town Paintball experience, Nuketown, that which is free with price of admission, those participants will need to purchase the paint.

When operational, the festival also features nightly live music by local Texas bands, most of which lean into a darkly appropriate sound — including Rob Zombie-tribute band American Witch. Concerts start at 8 pm nightly.
One of the biggest draw of the festival is that all drinks are free with price of admission. This includes adult beverages comprising of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light.
Tickets to Scream Fest are start at $30 for regular admission on opening weekend, October 3rd and October 4th, with student admission priced at $15. Ticket prices will go up through the season, topping out at $50 for general admission, $30 for students the weekends of October 24th and 25th, and October 31st and November 1st. See its calendar here for prices.

Ticket buyers will have access to all of the festival’s attractions, with food and paint of the paintball experience available for additional purchase. Scream Fest runs on weekends from October 3 to November 8. The festival is located at 1500 Elton St.
Be apprised, customers have complained about long wait times — particularly for the free booze, shocker — so prepare for that accordingly. The festival also states on its website that it has beefed up security with additional HPD and HFD on-site.
