Beginning Monday, Oct. 6, road closures will impact West Mockingbird Lane between Lemmon Avenue and Cedar Springs Road, near Dallas Love Field Airport.

DALLAS — Drivers traveling to Dallas Love Field should prepare for temporary road closures as the city begins an eight-week roadway improvement project near the airport.

The Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW) said starting Monday, October 6, at 7 a.m., it will begin work on major road repairs near Love Field.

The eight-week effort will bring lane reductions and temporary closures along West Mockingbird Lane between Lemmon Avenue and Cedar Springs Road.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, as several key access points to the Love Field will be affected, including West Mockingbird Lane, Cedar Springs Road, Lemmon Avenue, and Denton Road.

The airport’s main drop-off and pick-up zones on Herb Kelleher Way will remain open, officials said. Public transit and shuttle services are expected to operate on their regular schedules, though officials say updates will be issued if changes arise.

According to TPW, the project is intended to improve traffic flow and enhance safety in the long term.

This comes after road repairs, and construction is picking up at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, as work began in August on the next phase of the International Parkway Project. This project is expected to last at least three months.
