October in San Antonio may not come with crunchy leaves or anything remotely resembling sweater weather, but it does come with plenty of perfect photo ops. Whether you’re hunting for seasonal décor or just the best backdrop for your flannel fit, here’s your guide to the coolest pumpkin patches in and around San Antonio this spooky season.
Bracken Methodist Church
One of San Antonio’s longest-running pumpkin patches is perfect for selfies, whether celebrating Christian Girl Autumn or not. Stop by on Sundays for artisan market days or bring the kids to Patch or Treat on October 25, where costumed volunteers hand out candy from behind colorfully decorated doors. The fun runs through October 31.
Devine Acres Farm
Over 40 acres of fun await at Devine Acres Farm for their popular annual Fall CountryFest. Through November 2, guests can expect an endless array of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, live music, a tractor pull, a chance to pet cute farmyard animals, a blackberry bramble maze, sunflower fields, a large pumpkin barn, and a giggly goat beer garden for the adults looking to enjoy a boozy beverage after a long day at the pumpkin patch.
Rockberry Ranch has everything from giant Cinderella pumpkins to tiny tabletop gourds.Rockberry Ranch/ Facebook
Rockberry Ranch
A popular Halloween mainstay, Rockberry Ranch in Poteet features over 25 attractions, flower fields (sunflowers, marigolds, and zinnias), beer and wine for the adults, and plenty of pumpkin patch photo opportunities. Some of the bonus attractions include miniature donkeys, a blackberry patch, a baby animal barn, a Formula One trike track, and more. The pumpkin patch extravaganza runs through November 2.
Sundrop Springs
This New Braunfels farm goes all out for fall with its annual Fall Festival. Explore the pumpkin patch, wander the whimsical Pumpkin King’s Trail, catch a hayride or pig race, dive into a giant corn pit, and snap pics with towering sculptures — it’s autumn overload. Stick around later at night for a haunted attraction featuring live scare actors and a spooky walk through the woods. The haunted trail experience, dubbed Sundrop Screams, is open to ages 12 and up only. Both are open through November 2.
Traders Village
Take a break from the classic pumpkin patch by getting in the Corny Maze at Traders Village, San Antonio’s only corn maze. With three levels of difficulty, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure through the stalks. Stick around after sunset for their brand-new drive-thru Halloween light show. And, yes, there are still opportunities to take pics with the famous fall squash if you stop by the pumpkin painting station. Both experiences run through November 1.

Go on a scavenger hunt on October 18, see a movie on October 25, or visit during the weekends to try grub from local food trucks.
Winding Branch Ranch
Looking for a feel-good fall outing? Head to Winding Branch Ranch in Bulverde, where the pumpkin patch fun comes with a purpose. This free, family-friendly spot offers pumpkin painting, sensory stations, tons of photo ops, and the chance to meet rescued farm animals.
