A woman has been arrested and faces a murder charge following the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old on Friday.

Jenny Rosales died from a gunshot wound to the chest at about 4:40 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of a seafood restaurant in the 5100 block of Wichita Street, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Laterica Johnson, 47, has been arrested in connection to the shooting, according to Fort Worth police jail records.

After responding to the restaurant, officers learned from witnesses the victim and her suspected shooter had been involved in a minor vehicle accident, according to a news release from police.

They were attempting to exchange car insurance when witnesses saw one of the women pull out a handgun, point it at several people near the restaurant and attempted to leave without providing her insurance information, police said.

The woman then shot the 18-year-old and killed her, according to police.

The woman, later identified as Johnson following her arrest, left the scene, but called police and waited for them to arrive at her location.

The gun used in the shooting was found in the suspects vehicle, police said.

The shooting may have been gang related, according to police. No arrests have been made.
