HOUSTON – The University of Houston Soccer team suffered its first home loss of the season in a 1-0 defeat to Utah on Sunday afternoon at the Carl Lewis International Complex.

After a three-game hiatus without recording double-digit shot attempts, Houston (6-2-4, 1-2-2 Big 12) tallied 13 on the afternoon while holding Utah (6-5-3, 1-2-2 Big 12), the Big 12 Conference’s leading shot taking team to six.

The lone score of the afternoon came in the 15th minute when Utah’s Bella Woods’ shot from 30+ feet found the back of the net.

Houston had a handful of good looks throughout the match but couldn’t finish the opportunities.

With her start against Utah, graduate defender Alex Whitcraft recorded her 63rd career start to move into a four-way tie for seventh all time in career starts in program history.
