Pickup truck driver allegedly strikes woman standing in the street, police investigating

SAN ANTONIO – A woman has been hospitalized, and a driver is under investigation after a collision on the North West Side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene of a major traffic incident at the intersection of Memorial Street and Culebra Road.

Investigators say that the victim, a 37-year-old woman, was allegedly standing in the middle of Memorial Street, collecting personal items from a family member in a separate vehicle.

The driver of a white Mazda pickup truck was traveling northbound on Memorial Street when he allegedly struck the victim.

Police say the driver of the truck failed to stop and render aid. The woman was taken to the hospital for her non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers eventually located the pickup truck driver, a 35-year-old man, who reportedly cooperated with the investigation.
