When North Texas entrepreneurs Rex Womble and Chetan Chouhan launched WashMetrix three and a half years ago, they already had a destination in mind.

Last month, their vision became reality when Sonny’s Enterprises—billed as the world’s largest manufacturer of conveyorized car wash equipment and a leader in car wash technology—acquired their Dallas-based industry platform for business intelligence and data analytics.

WashMetrix CEO Rex Womble

“It was always our end game to eventually join forces with the Sonny’s team,” Womble recently said on LinkedIn, citing the Florida company’s leadership, reputation, and vision for continued innovation in the car-wash market.

Sonny’s CEO Curt Hutchins called the acquisition “an accelerant” to the company’s strategy in a September announcement.

Earlier this year, his Florida-based company launched Quivio, an integrated business-management suite for the car wash industry. According to Hutchins, WashMetrix enhances Quivio, giving customers “the most complete and accurate view of their performance.”

Sonny’s said the acquisition speeds up its technology development timeline, particularly for HR and accounting features, while broadening the analytics it offers car wash operators.

A unified data platform built for car wash operators

Founded in 2022 by Womble and Chouhan, WashMetrix officially launched its platform in February 2023 to help operators make faster, better-informed decisions as the $15 billion car wash industry continued its rapid growth and consolidation.

The acquisition positions WashMetrix as a component of Sonny’s Quivio, an integrated business management suite that provides operational and financial visibility for car wash owners and operators.

According to Womble, WashMetrix goes “far beyond just POS data.”

Deeper integration for car wash industry operators

WashMetrix links sales, staffing, and accounting data into one dashboard to help operators and finance leaders spot trends, compare locations, and close the books faster by pulling information from multiple systems.

According to Sonny’s, WashMetrix will be integrated into Quivio to provide business intelligence and operational analytics.

Womble called the deal “a massive leap forward” for WashMetrix. Together, he says, “we’re redefining how data drives smarter, faster, and more profitable decision-making for operators of all sizes.”

From startup to second exit

WashMetrix CTO Chetan Chouhan will be SVP – Software Development at Sonny’s Enterprises.

It’s the second successful exit for the WashMetrix founders. Womble and Chouhan previously launched Archeio Technologies in 2014 and sold it to Houston-based Quorum Software five years later.

Womble said on LinkedIn that he and Chouhan will continue helping develop and grow Quivio.

“We’re grateful for our customers, investors, and team members who helped reach this outcome. It was a privilege to work for you,” he said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
