Houston traffic: Southwest Freeway shut down at Wesleyan due to wreck

If you need to head north, you should consider Bissonnet or Richmond, depending on where you’re heading.

HOUSTON — There’s a major traffic alert you’ll want to know about if you’re jumping on the Southwest Freeway.  A three-vehicle wreck on the inbound side has it shut down at Weslayan.

At this point, we don’t know if there are injuries or how the wreck happened, but as of 5 p.m., the backup stretched for more than a mile.

The ramps from the West Loop have also backed up getting onto the Southwest Freeway. 

Depending on your destination, you may want to use Bissonnet or Richmond as alternate routes.
