A major multivehicle traffic accident shut down multiple lanes of North Central Expressway in Dallas on Monday afternoon, disrupting the evening commute for those headed out of downtown Dallas.

Police said they responded to a freeway accident in the 4100 block of North Central Expressway northbound shortly after 3 p.m.

The major wreck near Uptown closed multiple northbound lanes, forcing traffic down to one lane, according to Dallas police.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision, authorities said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said one driver had to be pulled out of their vehicle. Bystanders and others worked to help the victims before paramedics arrived.

The lanes reopened at 3:54 p.m., the fire department said.

No injuries were reported, Dallas police said.
