Alexander Le, 35, has been charged in connection with the Friday evening lockdown at Hudson Yards, which prosecutors say was triggered by a threat aimed at KKR & Co, one of the marquee tenants of 30 Hudson Yards.

Le was arraigned over the weekend in Manhattan Criminal Court on felony charges of third-degree burglary and fourth-degree stalking. Prosecutors allege that Le drove from Texas to New York on October 3 and entered the Hudson Yards tower that houses private equity and investment company KKR at around 4:50pm — minutes before police locked down the plaza, evacuated the 7 train station, and sealed off surrounding streets in response to the reported threat.

According to the complaint, Le allegedly demanded to see KKR’s CEO — referred to in the court documents as “CW1.” When that request was denied, a security guard reported hearing Le say, “Kill [CW1]. Kill [CW1]. Kill [CW1]. Die. Die. Die.” Prosecutors also allege that Le parked his vehicle near Hudson Yards after driving directly from Texas.

The District Attorney’s office noted that this was not the first time Le had allegedly targeted the company. In March 2024, he is accused of entering KKR’s offices on Sand Hill Road in Menlo Park, California, again demanding to meet with executives. After being escorted off the property, Le allegedly launched into a profanity-laced tirade, accusing company leaders of “stealing all of my data” and making threats that were captured on video. At that time, he was informed he was banned from visiting KKR locations.

KKR, which occupies the top ten floors of 30 Hudson Yards — roughly 343,000 square feet — is among several high-profile tenants in the 1,268-foot tower. The building also houses Warner Bros Discovery, including HBO and CNN, which moved many of their New York operations to Hudson Yards, as well as Wells Fargo, which leases more than half a million square feet. The developer, Related Companies, keeps its corporate headquarters in the tower, while other tenants include global law firm Covington & Burling and flexible workspace provider Convene.

Friday’s lockdown unfolded dramatically across Hudson Yards. The 7 train terminal was shuttered, plazas were cleared, FDNY units arrived, helicopters hovered overhead and even High Line staff stopped visitors from exiting onto the Hudson Yards plaza. By early evening, the backyard stage and deckchairs that usually fill with after-work crowds sat deserted as a movie showing was canceled, and police and the NYPD’s Strategic Response Group secured the scene.

Le is being represented by Legal Aid attorney Tracey Tae. Prosecutors sought bail of $50,000 cash or $150,000 bond, along with a 9.43 mental health exam and protective orders. The judge granted supervised release and full temporary orders of protection but declined to order the psychiatric exam. Le is due back in court on December 2.

The case comes as New York City continues to grapple with a troubling rise in high-profile incidents directed at corporate leaders and institutions. In December 2024, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown. The suspect, Luigi Mangione, was arrested and is awaiting trial.

More recently, on July 28, 2025, a gunman opened fire at 345 Park Avenue, home to the NFL’s headquarters, killing four people before turning the weapon on himself. The shooter, identified as Shane Tamura, had driven from Las Vegas and left behind writings blaming the NFL for the traumatic brain injury he believed he suffered during his high school football career. The medical examiner later confirmed that Tamura did have chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

No explosives were found at Hudson Yards on Friday, and KKR has not yet issued a public statement.
