Patent No. 12403589
Inventor(s): Yu Xiang (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): Nvidia Corporation (Santa Clara, CA)
Law Firm: Hogan Lovells US LLP (9 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18148548 on 12/30/2022 (977 days app to issue)
Abstract: A system may simulate human motion for human-robot interactions, such as may involve a handover of an object. Motion capture can be performed for a hand grasping and moving an object to a location and orientation appropriate for a handover, without a need for a robot to be present or an actual handover to occur. This motion data can be used to separately model the hand and the object for use in a handover simulation, where a component such as a physics engine may be used to ensure realistic modeling of the motion or behavior. During a simulation, a robot control model or algorithm can predict an optimal location and orientation to grasp an object, and an optimal path to move to that location and orientation, using a control model or algorithm trained, based at least in part, using the motion models for the hand and object.

Method for improving loss of lube survival
Patent No. 12404017
Inventor(s): John N. Maxwell (Keller, TX), Nick J. Jones (Fort Worth, TX)
Assignee(s): Textron Innovations Inc. (Providence, RI)
Law Firm: Frost Brown Todd LLP (Local + 4 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17979447 on 11/02/2022 (1035 days app to issue)
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described to increase emissivity within a gearbox. Loss-of-lube conditions can cause a gearbox in a vehicle to quickly heat up and fail, which could lead to loss of aircraft and/or life. Surface treatments within a gearbox, such as black paint, black oxide coatings, shot-peening, and others, can increase emissivity within the gearbox. The increased emissivity can increase heat transfer via radiation, leading to longer operational capabilities during loss-of-lube conditions.

Abstract: A device including microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors are used in dead reckoning in conditions where Global Positioning System (GPS) signals or Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are lost. The device is capable of tracking the location of the device after the GPS/GNSS signals are lost by using MEMS sensors such as accelerometers and gyroscopes. By calculating a misalignment angle between a forward axis of a sensor frame of the device and a forward axis of a vehicle frame using the data received from the MEMS sensors, the device can accurately calculate the location of a user or the vehicle of the device even without the GPS/GNSS signals. Accordingly, a device capable of tracking the location of the user riding in the vehicle in GPS/GNSS signals absent environment can be provided.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for proactive analysis of a computer environment to prevent a disruption in services. Specifically, a risk score may be generated for each of a plurality of different alerts. If the risk score generated for a particular alert meets a predefined criterion, the alert may be amplified to determine a remediation for the computer environment. Specifically, an alert with a risk score that meets a predefined criterion may be amplified to determine one or more remediations that can be implemented to proactively prevent a future and potential disruption in services in a computer environment. For example, a service process that has a greatest utilization at a particular storage resource, e.g., storage array, may be identified. One or more query scripts may then be executed within the database using the particular storage resource to identify a remediation that can be implemented to prevent a potential future disruption in services.

Non fungible token (NFT) based licensing and digital rights management (DRM) for software and other digital assets
Patent No. 12406250
Inventor(s): Kyle Thomas Mistele (Dallas, TX)
Assignee(s): Zelus Wallet, LLC (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: Brill Law Office (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18105232 on 02/02/2023 (943 days app to issue)
Abstract: NFTs are used to provide software licensing and DRM in a manner that is transferrable, allowing licensees to swap and resell licensed software according to terms specified by the licensor. NFTs are used to prove ownership of software and other digital assets on a blockchain. The blockchain provides a distributed public ledger that enables the tracking of ownership of the assets, without the use of a centralized server. Since software and other digital content licenses concern digital assets, they can be granted, tracked, and revoked on the blockchain via the use of NFTs. NFTs and the blockchain therefore provide a mechanism which is used to verify and authenticate software licenses, digital content licenses, and other types of licenses for digital assets. Smart contracts may be used to define and enforce the terms of the licenses, at any level of granularity.

Data is detected, by a current node in a current location in a network path, in a data unit that is specified according to a network protocol and that includes a first path-based protocol address including a plurality of path segment identifiers that identify respective path segments of a network path for transmitting data from a source node to a destination node. A current-next path segment identifier is detected, based on the current location, that identifies a current-next path segment in the plurality for transmitting the data from the current node to a next node in the network path. A current-next network interface id determined, based on the current-next path segment identifier, that is included in the current-next path segment. The data is sent, via the current-next network interface, to the next node.

Alias verification
Patent No. 12407642
Inventor(s): Vien Nguyen (Frisco, TX)
Assignee(s): GOOGLE LLC (Mountain View, CA)
Law Firm: Gray Ice Higdon (no location found)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18375883 on 10/02/2023 (701 days app to issue)
Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to periodically verifying aliases, e.g., by causing cross-platform clients to periodically verify aliases with cross-platform servers to which they are subscribed. In various implementations, a global discovery server (GDS) may be queried for a mapping between an alias and a connection string of an input-output (I/O) channel hosted by a distributed control node (DCN). A cross-platform client may be subscribed to the I/O channel by establishing a persistent network connection using the connection string. The persistent network connection may be used to obtain, from a local alias database of the DCN, a locally updated list of mappings between aliases and connection strings. A discrepancy may be identified between the locally updated list of mappings and the mapping between the alias and the connection string of the I/O channel hosted by the DCN. Based on the discrepancy, various remedial actions may be taken.
