Williamsburg’s Ensenada (168 Borinquen Place, at South Second Street) — the Mexican seafood spot from co-owner Bryce David with chef Luis Herrera and partner Ahmet Erkaya — will close on October 26, citing a dip in sales and rising operating costs. The team stressed that rent wasn’t the issue, but rather a tough financial climate, and plans to host a farewell gathering after the final service.

When it debuted in 2022, Eater praised Ensenada’s seafood-focused menu, especially the tempura-fried fish tacos and the al pastor branzino tacos layered with pineapple butter, calling them standouts worth seeking out.
