PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police are trying to find the person who beat a man who died months after he was attacked.
The investigation started on April 13, just before 4:30 p.m., when police found 65-year-old Mark Daniel Brendmoen in critical condition and bleeding from his head in the area of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries for the brain bleed. However, on July 20, he died.
The next day, an autopsy revealed the brain bleed was because he was beaten, but the “results of the autopsy were pended,” police said.
On Thursday, his death was ruled a homicide.
Homicide detectives are now in charge of the investigation and they are asking if anyone has information to please call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers, where all tips can remain anonymous.
