Overnight closures of I-295 from Beach Boulevard to Town Center Parkway planned for next week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation announced that Interstate 295 will be closed overnight next week between Beach Boulevard and Town Center Parkway.

The closures are planned from Oct. 12 to Oct. 16 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to FDOT, the closures are part of the widening and resurfacing improvement project on I-295 from J. Turner Butler Boulevard to Beach Boulevard.

Impacted ramps:

  • I-295 South on-ramp from Beach Boulevard

  • I-295 North on-ramp from UNF Drive

  • I-295 North ramp to Town Center Parkway/UNF Drive

  • I-295 South ramp to Town Center Parkway/UNF Drive

Detours:

Detour to I-295 South: Drivers will detour via westbound Beach Boulevard, southbound Saint Johns Bluff Road and eastbound Town Center Parkway to access the I-295 South on-ramp.

Detour to I-295 North: Drivers will detour via westbound Town Center Parkway, northbound Saint Johns Bluff Road and eastbound Beach Boulevard to access the I-295 North on-ramp.

Hubbard Construction Company, Inc. is expected to complete the $19 million improvement project in fall 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
