(WPDE) — A Coastal Flood Warning is out for all South Carolina beaches for Friday’s high tide.
The forecast says a crest of eight and a half feet would land in the top 10 highest historic crests for the Springmaid Pier.
On Friday, Horry County Emergency Management announced a Coastal Flood Warning until 2 p.m. today for coastal Horry County.
They said the areas that typically get tidal flooding will likely see that with today’s high tide. A statement by the emergency management team said that it is possible to see one to two feet of flooding above ground level.

The City of North Myrtle Beach also declared a flood warning from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. as they monitor and mitigate flooding impacts.
Crews have been clearing beach drains and will continue to watch street conditions throughout the day, placing barricades where necessary.
There are some safety concerns with beach access points due to erosion that has created fall hazards.
The City released these reminders:
- Do not drive around cones or barricades marking closed streets.
- If you must drive through standing water on an open street, reduce your speed to avoid creating a wake that could impact nearby properties.
- Do not use beach walkways that have been blocked off for safety reasons.
- Be alert for drop-offs or uneven areas on the beach caused by erosion and rough surf.
- To report concerns or issues, please contact City Hall at 843-280-5555 or the Non-Emergency Dispatch Line at 843-280-5511.
