PHOENIX – The concert lineup for next month’s Hondo Rodeo Fest at Chase Field has a new headline act.
Rapper-singer-songwriter Kid Rock is stepping up to the plate at the downtown Phoenix home of the Arizona Diamondbacks after country star Cody Johnson withdrew for health reasons.
Kid Rock is taking Johnson’s spot on Saturday, Nov. 8, the second night the three-day rodeo/music event. Johnson canceled his appearance this week after undergoing emergency surgery for a ruptured eardrum.
“Kid Rock is an artist who is known by almost every generation, in addition to being one of the biggest artists who supports the sport of rodeo. We could not be more pleased to add Kid Rock to an already incredible artist lineup for this year’s event,” Hondo Rodeo Founder and CEO James Trawick said in a press release.
What concerts besides Kid Rock are at Hondo Rodeo Fest?
Limited tickets remain for the Hondo Rodeo Fest, which is returning to Chase Field for a second year.
Each night of the event features a full rodeo competition from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. followed by two concert performances.
Nickelback tops the Nov. 7 bill, with Treaty Oak Revival performing opening duties.
Kid Rock will take the stage after Jon Pardi the next night.
The festival ends Nov. 9 with Riley Green opening for Jason Aldean.
The festivities start each day at noon with a free street festival featuring western vendors, food and beverages, and an outdoor stage. The Chase Field doors open an hour before the rodeo competition begins.
