Prince Harry took to the stage at Project Healthy Mind’s World Mental Health Day Festival to introduce a panel discussing young people in the digital age – and Meghan Markle was spotted close by offering her support.
Following the introduction, Harry took his seat, and that’s when we realized Meghan was on-hand, front row in the audience, sitting next to the mother of a young girl who was a part of the panel.
The young girl, an 11th grader in high school, told her harrowing story of overcoming the trap of TikTok, in which Meghan gave a telling gesture of support – nodding as she spoke.
The young girl said she was in fifth grade when she started using TikTok, and soon after that was the pandemic. She and her friends used TikTok to keep in touch, but for her, the TikTok algorithm started showing her videos about restrictive eating habits.
The panelist said she saw the videos so much that she started to believe them, that is was a good idea to restrict her eating, and as a result her weight dropped so much that she had to be hospitalized.
Harry and Meghan were also at the Project Healthy Mind’s annual gala last night, where they were presented with a Humanitarians of the Year award, and the two were dressed to the nines.
Today, the Sussexes dressed down a little bit, which seems to match up with the vibe and energy of the festival, which is relaxed and inviting.
Harry was in a suit, which makes sense as he was onstage, but since Meghan was taking a step back, and sitting supportively in the audience, she was dressed a little more casual.
The Duchess had on a light brown wool coat over flared blue jeans. The coat hit at her shin. She kept the coat on the entire time of the talk, which makes sense, as it’s getting cool in New York City.
