SAN ANTONIO — A man is facing murder charges after investigators say he shot his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend during a confrontation at a gas station earlier this week.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at the Quick Stuff on Historic Old Highway 90 near Acme Road on the city’s West Side.

According to an arrest affidavit, Richardo Michael Haymon, 40, is facing a murder charge for the fatal shooting of Ricardo Contreras.
The affidavit states officers found Contreras laying on ground in front of the convenience store in the 1200 block of Historic Old Highway 90 with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators say the medical examiner also found a gunshot wound to the victim’s back.
Officers searched the area and found multiple bullet shell casings in the parking lot as well as a nearby vehicle riddled with bullets that is believed to have been the victim’s car.
Police say the two men got into an argument leading up to the shooting. The girlfriend attemted to break it up, that’s when police say Haymon shot Contreras in the head.
Jail records show Haymon was booked on Friday for murder.
