HUMBLE, Texas – A woman is dead, and an investigation is said to be underway following a reported wrong-way crash on the Eastex Freeway.

What we know:
The crash was reported Saturday afternoon on I-69 North near Townsen Boulevard. The highway was announced back open at approximately 7:58 p.m.

What they’re saying:
Humble police’s Lt. Burt says a two-vehicle crash resulted in the fatality of a 22-year-old woman. CPR was performed on the scene, and she was pronounced dead in the hospital.
Humble police tell FOX 26 that a 52-year-old male was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway. He was in the right lane when the head-on collision occurred.
This investigation is ongoing and police are investigating the male going the wrong way.
