Police say a 76-year-old woman has died in Brooklyn following a solar panel crash Sunday morning.
The woman was struck in the head after the panel became loose and fell near Ocean Parkway and Brighton Beach Avenue around 10:30 a.m., according to NYPD officials.
Police said she was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, but her injuries ultimately proved to be fatal.
News12 Brooklyn reported a parking lot in the area had been cordoned off with police tape where cars were parked under large solar panels. One of the panels appeared to be missing.
Officials could not provide further details about how the panel fell or if the incident was related to weather, but said there was no criminality suspected as of Sunday afternoon.
