Arizona State Sun Devils football will host the Houston Cougars in Week 9 at Mountain America Stadium on Oct. 25, and kickoff will be at 5 p.m. MST.

The game will air on ESPN 2 or ESPNU.

The Sun Devils have back-to-back home games, starting this week against No. 7 Texas Tech on Saturday at 1 p.m. MST.

ASU has yet to face Houston as a Big 12 opponent, as they last played each other in the 1990 Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo, Japan.

The 4-2 Sun Devils are coming off a 42-10 loss to Utah with backup quarterback Jeff Sims starting for Sam Leavitt, who wore a boot on the sidelines. Leavitt was downgraded from probable to doubtful before the game. He is considered “week-to-week.”

ASU dropped out of the AP top 25 college football poll after entering Utah the No. 21 team in the country.

Houston is 5-1, bouncing back from a blowout loss to Texas Tech with a 39-17 win over struggling Oklahoma State in its last game. The Cougars host the Arizona Wildcats this week.
