Halloween Excitement Approaches The Hudson Valley
Halloween is right around the corner and it seems like every one is ready to celebrate this year. Maybe because the spooky holiday falls on a Friday this year, but there’s a different energy surround the fall holiday in 2025.
If you’re on social media, you may have see your local police department share an update to their logo and profile picture.
Local Law Enforcement Getting in The Halloween Spirit
We noticed the change first with the Catskill Police Department. They changed their patch and Facebook profile picture to the following:
Apparently this was a trend that Upstate, New York police departments were taking part in at Hudson City Police Department, Town of North Greenbush Police and East Greenbush Police .They wrote on social media:
This isn’t just about a patch, it’s about sharing smiles, having a little fun, and showing off some creativity. And between you and us…we’re pretty sure Catskill’s spooky patch might just be the best one yet.
They went on to add, “lets spread some Halloween magic and show off the best spooky patches in the Capital Region.”
Hudson Police opted for a Skeleton Patch:
And the Saugerties Police Department jumped on the trend representing for the Hudson Valley with a Witch!
Obviously, these aren’t real patches, just digitally made images for social media. However, one of the law enforcement agencies figured out a way to get the images off the screen and on merch.
Catskill Police Department Sells Halloween Gear
The Catskill Police Department Halloween patch was such a big hit, requested started pouring in for Halloween merch.
The people asked, and Catskill Police Department delivered.
On Facebook the Catskill Police Department writes “The Catskill Police Benevolent Association has updated the Halloween shirt design! The new designs are now live and the PBA is officially opening pre-orders.”

You can order your Catskill PD Halloween shirts through a pre-order form that you can find HERE. Shirts are $25 and come in long or short sleeved options.
Every purchase will help “fund community events, programs and local causes throughout the year.”
Unfortunately, the patches wouldn’t be ready before Halloween but hey, there’s always next year!
