PHOENIX — A man trapped in a Phoenix canal as heavy rain and storms raged overhead on Monday has been rescued, authorities said.
Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the area of 13th Street and Indian School road to find the man in the canal, which was flooded with around 3 feet of water.
The man told rescue crews he had fallen into the canal and couldn’t get out.
Firefighters used a ground ladder, which he used to climb out on his own, authorities said.
He is in stable condition and was being brought to a local hospital for further evaluation as a precaution, authorities said around 4:15 p.m.
