Rutgers is set to head back to the Player Era Tournament in Las Vegas this season for the second year in a row. The Scarlet Knights’ first two opponents of the tournament were leaked today in a report from UMHoops.

In the first game of the tournament, the Knights are set to take on the Tennessee Volunteers at 1 pm on Monday, November 24th, 2025, at Park MGM Las Vegas. Rutgers and Tennessee have squared off on the hardwood twice before, with the Volunteers having a perfect 2-0 record against the Knights.

In their second game, Rutgers is set to take on Notre Dame. Last season, the Irish and the Knights battled in the Players Era Tournament, where Rutgers beat Notre Dame 85-84 in overtime. That game is set to take place on Tuesday, November 26th, and will also tip off at 1 pm.

Rutgers’ opponents after that depend on how well the Knights fare in the first two games.

In the tournament last year, Rutgers won their first game against Notre Dame 85-84 in overtime but fell to Alabama 95-90 and Texas A&M 81-77 in the two games after.

A large amount of NIL money will be up for grabs at the tournament. Last year, each team was guaranteed $1 million in NIL money just for participating and $2 million if they won it all. With the success of last year’s tournament, this year’s tournament could see a prize pot upwards of $20 million.
