Event Preview

The intense action on the NASCAR Cup Series continues this weekend, as Talladega Superspeedway hosts the penultimate race in the Round of 8. Just three races remain on the Cup Series schedule for 2025, with drivers bidding to secure their spot in the top four this weekend.

Denny Hamlin extended his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship last weekend after winning the South Point 400. The driver’s advantage stands at just four points, meaning that the pressure remains on his shoulders despite winning a race for the second time in six rounds.

Kyle Larson remains within striking distance after finishing second for the second successive weekend last time out. The former champion’s form has remained strong throughout the playoffs, finishing inside the top ten in each of the last four rounds.

Interestingly, each of the top four in the Drivers’ Championship standings finished inside the top four of the South Point 400 last weekend. Christopher Bell finished third for the third straight race, while Chase Briscoe rounds off the important spots after claiming fourth last weekend.

Yellawood 500 Picks

This should be a pivotal weekend in the race to secure a top four spot in the Drivers’ Standings. However, a chance could be taken on Ryan Blaney to make a late charge for a top-four finish after winning the Yellawood 500 on two previous occasions.
