The woman facing a manslaughter charge after being accused of fatally colliding with an 18-year-old kayaker on Grapevine Lake in May is expected in court Tuesday.
Defendant Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez is expected to appear before Judge Vincent Giardino on Tuesday for a consultation docket, a hearing where attorneys can discuss plea offers, evidence or possible resolutions to the case before a trial.
According to court documents filed Sept. 10 and obtained by NBC 5, Gonzalez Gonzalez signed a plea offer acknowledgment in the second-degree manslaughter case involving the death of Air Force Academy cadet Ava Renee Moore.
The plea offer acknowledgment indicated that there was no offer of a plea bargain from the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office and that if convicted of the charge, Gonzalez Gonzalez could face between 2 and 20 years in state prison and a fine of $10,000.
NBC 5 reported in May that a witness cited in an arresting document told police that Gonzalez Gonzalez was recklessly operating a personal watercraft (PWC) and she collided with Moore. According to the affidavit, the woman kayaking with Moore said she turned to see the PWC strike Moore. After the collision, the woman on the PWC saw that Moore was injured and immediately left the area.

Video shared with NBC 5 in May showed several people carrying Moore out of the water and trying to provide first aid. Despite the life-saving efforts of witnesses and first responders, according to the arrest warrant, Moore was pronounced dead at 5:59 p.m. while on the way to the hospital.
Gonzalez Gonzalez and the man she is believed to have left the lake with were later arrested at a residence in Oak Cliff. Since her arrest, Gonzalez Gonzalez has been held in the Tarrant County Jail on bonds totaling $520,000.
