“We all love her and hope that she’s safe,” Kevin Scott told Dateline.
Kevin’s daughter, Kada, has been missing for more than a week. She was last seen on Oct. 4 in Philadelphia.
Kada was born and raised in Philadelphia. She’s the eldest of two. “[She’s] the creative type,” Kevin said. “She loves fashion. She has designed her own clothing brand in the past. I believe she was looking into starting her own healthcare business as well.”
Kada graduated from Penn State in 2023, where she studied communications. She also recently began participating in pageants. “She broke into it this past summer. It’s called Miss USA,” Kevin said. “That was actually her first time participating in a pageant. She said she loved the experience and wanted to do it again.”
At the time of her disappearance, Kada was living with her mother and worked at an assisted living facility called The Terrace at Chestnut Hill.

Kevin said his daughter worked the overnight shift on Oct. 4. “Prior to work, I believe she may have gone to dinner with friends — something of that nature,” he said. “She came back home around 9:45 p.m., asked to borrow her mother’s car, and left for her 10 p.m. shift, which was set to end at 6 a.m.”
Kada drove to work. The next day, Sunday, Oct. 5, Kevin got a call. “Her mom called me and asked, ‘Did you speak to Kada?’” Kevin had not. “She said it was strange because Kada got off at 6 a.m. that morning but never arrived home.”
They tried calling Kada but got no response. Kevin said it was unlike his daughter. “She always has her phone with her — normally always charged,” he said. “To have the phone totally off, go straight to voicemail, and no texts responding — that’s definitely strange behavior for Kada.”

Kevin said Kada’s mother called her job and learned that she left early, around 10:30 p.m. “That was the last time someone saw her,” he said. “And then she disappeared.”
According to Kevin, on the evening of Oct. 5, Kada’s mother reported her missing. He said officers with the Philadelphia Police Department searched the area near Kada’s work the next day. “Her mom’s car was still parked in the employee parking lot,” Kevin said. “She had an iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch in her bag, but they were not inside the vehicle. Whatever happened, she took her belongings with her.”
Kevin said police scoured the area with canines, helicopters and drones. “They didn’t find anything,” he said.
On Oct. 8, the Philadelphia Police Department held a press conference regarding the case. Sergeant John Craig noted there had been no cellphone or social media activity from Kada. “You have a 23-year-old young lady who has completely disappeared,” he said. “We’re interviewing family and friends and analyzing cellphone data.”
Craig said investigators learned through Kada’s family and friends that in the days prior to her disappearance, unknown individuals had been harassing her via phone. “We’re trying to figure out who they are,” he said. “We’re hoping anyone can lead us in the right direction.”

On Oct. 10, investigators conducted a search at Awbury Arboretum in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood, but officials reported that nothing was found.
On Oct. 14, the department announced that the homicide unit is now investigating Kada’s case. Dateline reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department, which confirmed the case is now being handled by the homicide unit but did not answer any additional questions.
Kevin Scott told Dateline the FBI is now also involved in his daughter’s case. “We haven’t spoken directly with them,” he said.
Kevin is just hoping Kada will find her way home. “We’re working as hard as we can,” he said.
Kada is 5’6” and 120 lbs. She was last seen wearing black joggers and a black top.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-3353.
