  • October 17, 2025

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a teenage boy that occurred Tuesday night in a neighborhood near South Riverside and Lakewood.

The shooting took place on Caljon Road, just off St. Augustine Road and south of Emerson Road. While the exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear, evidence shows the teen was shot at a home and then walked across the street before collapsing on the ground.

Neighbors say they did not hear the gunshot but were alerted by the arrival of first responders. Danielle Williams, who lives nearby, described seeing the teen on the ground as emergency personnel performed CPR.

“I heard the ambulance and came outside. They were out here in the field. He was on the ground, and they were performing CPR,” Williams said.

Williams added she was shocked by the incident, noting, “I couldn’t believe it because stuff like that never happens over here.”

Police have not yet identified the victim. Although two people were detained for questioning, no arrests have been made at this time.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officials continue to gather information as the investigation unfolds.
