SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Jordan Terrell Carter, known professionally as Playboi Carti, was arrested and charged with assault in Utah.
The prominent American rapper was charged with assault, a class B misdemeanor, in Wasatch County on Oct. 9, according to charging documents.
Carter was arrested after allegedly assaulting an individual on Oct. 2. Details of the incident were not publicly released in court documents.
Carter kicked off his “Antagonist 2.0 Tour” on Oct. 3 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the tour has continued as scheduled after his arrest. His final show is expected to take place in his hometown of Atlanta on Dec. 1.
Playboi Carti has 46.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, 13.3 million followers on Instagram, and 4.7 million subscribers on YouTube.
He won Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in 2024 and has been nominated for several awards, including two Grammys.
