It was no sporting event with tailgating and costumed fans holding up or displaying creative posters and signs, but the “No Kings” redux protests brought out some of the same.

A few thousand and maybe closer to 10,000 people came out for Jacksonville’s march from the Friendship Fountain to the courthouse downtown to join the nationwide coordinated anti-Trump sentiment.

Participants were in taco, chicken, alien and king outfits among others on a much more fair Oct. 18 day than last June’s rally in the Florida’s heat. They shared such messages ― many not suitable for publication ― as “Hate will not make you great,” “Down with the Turd Reich,” “ICE melts,” “The Shady Bunch,” “Future generations will judge you for what you ignored,” “Jesus was WOKE, how about you” and “The greatest of a nation is measured by how it treats the least among us.”
