SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A brush fire in the 4S Ranch area of north San Diego County briefly led to evacuations Sunday.

Just before 4:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 16000 block of 4S Ranch Parkway due to reports of plumes of smoke seen from Interstate 15.

Because flames threatened some nearby structures, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order for residents near Winecreek Road.

The blaze burned just under two acres before crews stopped its spread by 5:20 p.m.

Evacuation orders were lifted by 5:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
