It’ll be noticeably cooler across North Texas today as highs retreat to the upper 70s, closer to normal for this time of year. Central and South-Central Texas will be only slightly cooler with highs back in the 80s. A high fire danger remains across the state. Looking ahead to the end of the week, moisture starts moving in on Thursday ahead of a slow-moving upper low. This will bring a chance of showers and storms, with rain chances increasing Thursday night and peaking on Friday and Saturday.

1. Dallas mayor directs review of potential ICE partnership that the police chief declined

Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson has written a memo to two members of the City Council, Public Safety Committee Chair Cara Mendelsohn and Government Efficiency Committee Chair Maxie Johnson, requesting a joint meeting and a public review of Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux’s decision not to partner with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to authorize his officers to enforce immigration laws.

Universal Kids Resort is still under construction, but the excitement is at an all-time high after the theme park released renderings and additional details.

Little Joe celebrates 85 years of life

Little Joe, the five-time Grammy Award-winner from Temple, Texas, has a career spanning over 70 years.

He took Tejano music to places like Los Angeles, Mexico, Europe and Japan. He turned 85 on Oct. 17, but he always thought he would retire at 35 years old with $15,000 in the bank.
