Rain chances are on the horizon again for this weekend in North Texas.
They’ll first materialize Thursday afternoon and are expected to last through Saturday. While some stronger storms are possible, the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said the severe weather threat is low.
The hourly chance of showers will stay above 50% from 1 p.m. on Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday, with over two inches of rain expected to fall in that period at DFW International Airport. Precipitation totals are broadly expected to be higher for areas near, or to the east of, the Interstate 35 corridor.
Before then, clear skies and relatively cool temperatures are expected. The high on Wednesday is 81 degrees, with similar temperatures in the low 80s expected for Thursday and Friday.
D-FW Weather Wise
Things should cool off more after the rain arrives, down to seasonable average temperatures in the mid-70s.
