PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Oct. 22, 2025:
Restaurant Sinaloa – 45 W Broadway Rd, Mesa
3 violations:
- Pans of raw shrimp stored above cooked beef
- Dirty knives stored as clean
- Bucket of salsa kept past discard date
Carniceria Ponderosa– 1909 W Thunderbird Rd, Phoenix
3 violations:
- No paper towels at hand wash sink
- Pork skins and fried shrimp not held hot enough
- Batches of barbacoa kept past discard date
Zipps Sports Grill – 4710 E Warner Rd, Phoenix
4 violations:
- Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
- Pot of marinara sauce out of temperature
- Shredded chicken not kept hot enough
- 5-6 drain flies in mop sink
Convenience Mart – 757 S Country Club Dr, Mesa
4 violations:
- Tomato paste not date marked
- Unlabeled sauce with green and gray organic growth
- Raw chicken stored above ready-to-eat rice
- Medicine stored above yogurt
