Parent company Gracious Hospitality Management, led by Simon Kim, debuted CQDQ at the U.S. Open, where it offered chicken nuggets and crispy chicken sandwiches. The team also just expanded its Michelin-starred NYC Korean barbecue restaurant Cote into Las Vegas earlier this month.
The C as in Charlie/Kisa team is looking to get into Southern buffets in East Village
There are more tentative details about the forthcoming restaurant from the team behind Manhattan Korean restaurants C as in Charlie and Kisa: The still-unnamed spot will focus on Southern country buffets, as noticed by EV Grieve. The restaurant comes from the co-owners, David JoonWoo Yun, Eric JaeHo Choi, and Steve JaeWoo Choi, all of whom grew up together in Atlanta.
The blog notes that the team’s questionnaire for the Community Board 3 docket earlier this week mentioned that the restaurant will offer a buffet for $25.99 and have space for 60 seats. The new restaurant is taking over what was the Ferns bar space at 166 First Avenue, near East 10th Street, set to open in early 2026.

Modern executive chef Tom Allan will cook a tasting menu with D.O.M.’s chef Alex Atala; expect fancy Brazilian and American dishes. The Monday, November 3 meal is $295 with optional wine pairings; reservations can be booked online with seatings at 5 and 8:45 p.m.
