PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man suspected of burglarizing a home in north Phoenix is in the hospital after police say he was shot by a homeowner Thursday morning.
Phoenix police said they were called out to a shooting near 40th and Cortez avenues, just south of Cactus Road, around 10:40 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man had been shot. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said they learned that he had burglarized a nearby home when he was shot by a homeowner. However, it’s unclear if he was shot by that homeowner or a neighbor.
